Nationwide looks at how Athlone Institute of Technology has re-invented itself, including how it is supporting the local jobs industry and what student life is like on campus. Our Marketing Director Michael Moran appears in this week’s Nationwide, speaking about his experience at returning to AIT and then going on to open his new company Digital Eire Marketing with his business partner Ray Carolan.

Our Marketing Director Michael Moran received “The Gay Kelly Memorial Award” on the 27th of October in Athlone Institute of Technology. This award is dedicated in the memory of Mrs Gay Kelly who is honoured for her contribution to the establishment of AIT in 1973.
The award is a great honour for Michael as it recognises a graduates achievements no matter the obstacle.
The Award has even greater significance as Ray Carolan the co-director in Digital Eire is a nephew of Gay Kelly. Special thanks to AIT and the Kelly and Rowan family for a wonderful day and lasting memories.

Great night at the VIP launch at Inglot's new store in Blanchardstown, special thanks to Geraldine, Jane & Tommy Swarbigg. Michael even got himself a free makeover :)
On Wednesday last the
12th of October, Michael Moran our Marketing Director spoke to Fourth Year Honours Degree Business Students in Athlone Institute of Technology.
Brenda Flaherty, a marketing lecturer in AIT, invited Michael to speak about Digital Marketing and The Power of Social Networking. These sectors are experiencing phenomenal growth with companies like Google reporting 26% growth in profits. The Diageo drinks company has recently attributed a 20 % growth in Sales to Face book and they have embraced the power of advocacy, where their loyal customers do the selling for them.
Their customers personal insight into using their product/service is invaluable as it gives other customers confidence in making a decision to buy. The presentation lasted approximately ninety minutes including a brisk Q&A session where students participated very proactively and gave Michael plenty of fruit for thought.
